6 BEST Things to Do in Niagara Falls

There are so many cool things to do at Niagara Falls and it is hard to choose which activities to book. After a lot of research for our trip, I found out the best activities for couples or families.

​Here are the 6 best activities for your Niagara Falls trip.. Please note this is all in the Canadian side, so if you are in USA, you are going to need a passport and cross the border to enjoy them.

1. Hornblower Cruises Niagara Falls

When you take the Hornblower cruise you get as close as you can get to the Falls by water. It is a 20 min boat ride, where you can see, hear and experience all the power of both the American Falls and the Canadian Falls. 

You get a souvenir poncho (although you can also recycle it)

This is an experience that we totally recommend while visiting Niagara Falls

2. Journey Behind the Walls

This is a very unique experience. You get to get down on an elevator and then explore the 130 years old tunnels that take you behind the Falls. There is also an observatory balcony where you can grab amazing pictures of the Falls and the Niagara river.

Journey Behind the Falls is the best way to experience the power of the Falls.

3. MistRider Zipline

I am thrill seeker so there is no doubt I was going to love the ride, however even if you are not into extreme sports, you can do this Zipline. It is a short 45 seconds, but the view is amazing and breathtaking. It is not a scary ride and this is probably the most comfortable harness I have ever wore. 

The MistRider Zipline was on my bucket list and I am so happy I was able to experience it.

4. Whirlpool Jet Boat

I have to say that if it wasn't because of  Tripadvisor I wouldn't had known about this activity. I am so glad that I saw it and we were able to experience it. 

This is like a roller coaster on a boat. So much fun. It was perfect to cool off from the heat of the summer and it was such a thrill adventure. You go on rapids class 5 and get soaked wet. I totally recommend for you to book the Whirlpool Jet Boat tour.  

5. Skylon Tower

The views of Niagara Falls and the city from Skylon Tower are amazing. It is a short elevator ride to the observation deck. The best deal would be to book a dinning experience on one of their restaurants, but if you are out of time, just make sure to go to the observation deck for great pictures

6. Niagara Falls Illumination

There is no need to book this activity. It happens daily and it is FREE. You can watch from your hotel (if it has Falls view) or you can go near the Falls. 

It is amazing seeing the colors change and the firework show is super cool as well.
