Last Saturday 01/26/13 I participated on the first Bakersfield Samrt & Final Tweep Up Event. It was a pretty fun event where store costumers using their smart phones and very common applications such as Foursquare, Instagram, Facebook and twitter took pictures of their shopping experience and uploaded the on the web to win $25.00 dollars gift.
The event was a lot of fun and we were able to provide some of the customers with gift cards to buy their groceries for the weekend and start shopping for the upcoming Super Bowl Celebrations.
And while I was at the event, I did some shopping for myself. I look at all the good sales available and I also check it out the Smart and Final Corporate Brands such as First Street, Ambiance and La Romanella. The corporate brands offer quality products at such a great price that is easy to complete a complete meal for just a few bucks.
Super Bowl is coming up and I love to have gatherings at my house. But as much as I love entertaining people, I also work full time, so I have to get creative with easy to prepare meals for a good prize.
Today I want to share some of the dishes that I have prepared on the past for my parties and that have been a success with family and friends, and the most important thing is that they are easy to prepare and very economical, you can make all 3 plates for around $25.00 dollars and will have ingredients left to make other things during the week.
Plate one: Nacho Beef Casserole
1 lb of ground beef
1 ½ cups of crushed tortilla chips2 cups shredded cheese
1/4 cup chopped onions
1 can of chili beans
1-2 tablespoons taco seasoning
Cook beef with onions until browned and crumbled.
In a 9 x 13 pan, spread the crushed chips, then layer ½ of the beef mixture, the chili, cheese and make layers.
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes
Once is out of the oven cover with black olives and avocado.
You can also serve with sour cream
Plate two: Spicy Wieners
2 TBS Ketchup
4 TBS brown sugar
1 package Lil Smoke Sausages
1/4 cup white wine
Mix all the ingredients on low heat with the sausages
Heat through until is hot.
If you are a follower of my blog you probably know that 2013 is the year to become healthier and lose weight. I know most people think about Super Bowl to eat and drink, but I want to be able to offer my guests the opportunity to have a healthy option so I offer a healthy but yummy salad.
Plate three: Green Field Strawberry Salad
2 cups of baby spring mix
1 cup strawberries
Your choice of salad dressing
Mix all the ingredients together and enjoy

I can believe we are starting our 3 week. This challenge has been so great and I am so proud of all the ladies that are doing it with me. I think most of us have been sick, so it has been hard, but we are still going strong and that makes me very happy.
I have been walking every day and I am reaching my goal of at least 10,000 steps a day. I am tracking my steps using my Omron Fitness Tri-Axis USB Pedometer (HJ-323U). I love this pedometer because it does so much more than tell me how many steps do I have each day. The Pedometer keeps track of aerobic steps, steps per minute, and even the calories burned. At the end of the day I connect the pedometer using the USB to my computer and it uploads all the information to Omronfitness.com and there in the dashboard you can see your daily and weekly progress and even challenge yourself to achieve a best personal step count. This pedometer is very accurate and counts strides, so you will not get false readings while riding in a bumpy car.
I am also very happy with my new Omron 510W Scale. I love that the scale can measure not only the BMI, but also the body fat percentage, the visceral fat and the skeletal muscle percentage.
As for my progress on the scale, I lost 5 pounds this week for a total of 20 pounds since starting this challenge
I can tell you it feels great to put on your clothes and they are loose on me. But the best part is when I see people and they tell me I look great and they can tell I am losing the weight and getting healthier.
For this week my goal is to continue walking and drink more water. I sometimes get really busy at work and forget to drink as much water as I want to.
We are also going to be modifying our workouts and so you can follow along by downloading the PFD file.
I will be extra busy for the next couple of weeks, I am going to be preparing everything for my son’s birthday party, but I will find that time to work out, because I can see the results now.

Step two: Dip cookies on chocolate and decorate with sprinkes before chocolate dries.

Last step: Put in a cute container and you have a good gift for Valentine's Day
