We adopted Da Vinci a few years ago. We rescued him from the shelter and he is now part of the family. He is a German Shepherd and he is like a son to me.

So, when I got a copy of the book Dog-Gone Good Cuisine I was really interested to see what it was all about. True is my first impression was being surprised. The recipes in the book are just so good that I want to eat them without sharing them with Da Vinci.

Certified nutritionist and chef Gayle Pruitt shows us that we can cook healthy and delicious recipes for dogs and humans too. The names of the dishes sound like the menu form a very upscale restaurant and things I want to eat too.

Some of the recipes are

• Baked Cauliflower
• Cinnamon chicken
• Mediterranean Meatballs on a stick
• Omelet with spinach and goat cheese
• Boney beef broth
• Quinoa with carrots and kale
• 
  

It is time to get in the kitchen to prepare some of these yummy recipes and see id Da Vinci is lucky to get some, because I have a feeling we are going to eat them all.

I was so lucky to receive a complementary corn kit to review. The first think that came to my mind was to prepare Maizitos con questo, a colombian recipe that brings me so many memories form my childhood. It is a very easy recipe to make and the corn kit had the perfect tools to facilitate the preparation.

The Corn Kit includes: Corn Butterer, Corn Silker, Interlocking Corn Holders and Corn Stripper

The products are made with good materials, are dishwasher safe, heat resistant and very sturdy. The company has Swiss innovation and it is now available in the US with other products that for sure will make cooking easier.

Ingredients

• 4 cups corn kernels (frozen or fresh)
• 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
• 1 cup parmesan cheese (for topping)
• Thousand Island dressing 

Preparation

Place the corn into on an oven resistant plate. Cover with mozzarella cheese and dressing. Bake for around 20 min covered with aluminum foil. Then remove foil and cook for 5 minutes. Top with the parmesan cheese. 

Some people also add bacon on top of the cheese.

Time to enjoy and try not to eat the whole plate by myself.

One of the things my son enjoyed the most, was "being part of history". We all helped to break the Guinness Record of the most people feeding each other yogurt simultaneously, and because we broke the record, Ehrmann donated $20,000 dollars to the Children’s Heart Foundation. 

MIXIM will initially be available in California, Arizona and Nevada starting in January 2014 and I cannot wait to see what new flavors they will introduce in the future.

My son has learned to thrive and learn with positive reinforcement and discipline. I have stayed away from spanking and physical punishment. Time outs and rewards have worked for me so far.

He is getting older and it is hard to keep track of chores as I used to do before. So when I found the FREE online website My Job Chart, I was really happy. It is a free site that allow parents to customize the job chart for the kids age and chores.

I like the variety of chores available (house chores and school chores) and the fact the parent can leave notes for their kids. Also the kids get points that they can exchange later at the store. As your kid complete their "jobs", MyJobChart.com keeps track of their earned points and they can convert them into money to save, share or spend.

This a really cool site and you can either have your child complete the chart online (they have their password) or you can print it for them and then log them in.

I really like that you can enter your own options of chores, which means that you could use this also with adults. I am thinking honey-do list, what about you?
