Some of the destinations and events mentioned on this post were complimentary or a media rate was extended , however all typos, grammatical errors, and opinions are my own Just a short 10 minute drive up from the heart of Niagara Falls you will be able to find one of the best attractions available in the area. Although not located directly in Niagara Falls, you just make a short trip to Niagara on the Lake and find Whirlpool Jet Boats. This attraction is pure adrenaline. Imagine a 45 minutes high-speed ride upriver into the Niagara Gorge, spinning in the water and passing through the Devil's Hole class 5 rapids. I advice you to get there at least 45 min before your trip so you can enjoy the view, leaving your valuables at the free lockers and check-in counter. They are going to ask you to sign the participation agreement. After that you will attend a short safety briefing and then it is time to gear up. If you forgot water shoes they have some available and during colder months they have fleece and ponchos available as well. Since our trip was during the summer we wanted to get soaked wet to cool off from the humid 90 degrees weather. You do have to wear a life jacket and after everyone is ready to board the boat is time for some pictures while you are still dry. Now it is time to start your ride. Just imagine a rollercoaster on the river. Jumps, spins and a lot of water on your face. The first thing you get to experience is the Hamilton Turn: a super fun 360 degree spin with a finish of splashing water to get you wet. Then you drive to the Gore and have time to enjoy the beautiful river views. After a bit of quiet and enjoying the ride it is time for bouncing up and downs to the Class V rapids of Devil’s Hole. Be ready to get lots of water on your face and get soaked wet. Although we did see the Class 6 Whirlpool Rapids, they are so dangerous that we were not able to ride those, but they do sure look super fun. After your ride is over you might want to change into dry clothes (they have changing rooms available) and you are going to want to view/purchase photos and videos. They are totally worth it. Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours has been operating in the Niagara River since 1992, and has two operations on the Canadian side of the river in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara Falls, Ontario and one on the American site in Lewiston, New York. They have an option of a covered boat for those with kids under 6 years old and those that do not want to get wet. Some tips to make the best of your experience are
