Disclosure: I was invited for a media event to visit the restaurant. All opinions expressed are my own. Now the residents of Ventura County can enjoy great appetizers, pizza and event drinks at Settebello. Perfectly located next to the movie theater, at the Collection, the wood-fired pizza that has been famous in Las Vegas has opened their doors in Oxnard, CA. Settebello is offering their famous Neapolitan-style pizzas. Their pizzas are in the style of the original ones from Naples, Italy. What does that mean? According to Settebello their pizza is Pizza Napoletana is made with a soft dough and takes about one minute to cook in a wood-burning oven. Because of this, Pizza Napoletana has several distinctive characteristics. Pizza in Napoli is soft and foldable and can be considered "wet" by American standards, for this reason the people in Napoli generally eat their pizza with a knife and a fork. Blackened char spots on the pizza crust is a tell-tale sign of Pizza Napoletana that has been cooked in a blistering hot, wood burning oven. Each pizza is an individual work of art. The LocationThe Oxnard location presents with a very cozy environment, but it is still good to take your kids if you want to. The foodThe hand rolled pizza that is then cooked in a wood-burning oven gives their thin crust pizza a very different touch. And all that just in less than a minute. My son really liked the pizza. However I have to say my son favorite part were the salami, prosciutto and cheese variety. My husband favorite part was probably the dessert: nutella, strawberries and banana. The drinksThe cocktails are different and really tasty. Let's make pizzaThe art of making pizza. Hand rolled pizza preparation in less than a minute and then to the oven and ready in less than a minute. It is just amazing The end result: A great place to eat!Settebello Oxnard

All opinions expressed are 100% mine. So on my first post about Fitcation 13 I told you about what we did on Day one and Day two. Oh, yeah, the fun and adventures were not over. Day three was full of more beautiful places to visit, more wine and some shopping. We got up really early and we went to visit the Hearst Castle. This is such a beautiful place. I have always wanted to visit. Thanks so much to Visit Cambria for helping organize the tour. The Castle is just amazing. So many cool things about it and the story behind it is just amazing. I loved both the outdoor and indoor pools. If you are visiting I recommend that you watch the movie. Great piece of history. After we headed to the beach to have a picnic lunch from Robin's Restaurant and to enjoy some yoga at the beach with the fabulous @bodhi_bear Then it was the visit to Morro Bay and kayaking at . (I passed on the kayaking since it was cold and I had an allergy attack) but the rest of the group had a lot of fun with the kayaks from Kayak Horizons. We did enjoyed some light appetizers and enjoyed the view from the restaurant. Then we headed to San Luis Obispo for some dinner at Eatz and some Tolusa wine. Now the bad news for me, all the pictures from this point forward got deleted from my camera (insert tears here) so I cannot share the awesome food and wine, but trust me all was great. We stayed touring San Luis Obispo, doing some shopping. So sad I lost those pictures but I have all the memories of great times with great friends. In my next post I will talk a little bit about the sponsors, because without them we would not have been able to have so much fun and enjoy all the amazing things we did. I leave you with a video thanks to @bodhi_bear because the #Fitcation13 ladies know how to have fun! |
