When my family told me they were going to come to visit for the holidays I knew I needed to plan a few staycations to keep us entertained and show them a new side of California. They have always see what most of the tourists that come from outside the country see, theme parks and museums, but I know California has so much more to offer.

As homeschoolers we have always looked for places where we can take my son (and now my niece and nephew) to learn while having fun. The California Science Center is one of the museums we love to visit because it has so much to offer in terms on learning and the best part is that the entry is free. (some experiences have a fee, and we always do a donation to keep the project going).

One of our holiday traditions is to make a Disney inspired breakfast for the holidays. This year we decided to make a Christmas Tree with Mickey shaped waffles. It was not only cute but delicious and so easy to prepare.
