I have to admit it, I am and addict. I am (hope I can say was soon) addicted to Soda. I used to drink several cans a day, then I dropped to one a day and then I was not even finishing one a day, but I was still drinking it.
In my mind, it was ok. It was diet and it was saving me some calories. I kept reading and hearing all these things about diet soda and I was in denial. It just fell so good down my throat. It has been 7 days straight without having a sip. I am not going to lie, the first days I had headaches and I was thinking about it and I had cravings for bread and sugar. But I have been strong. I have been having water infused with fruits, detox water (with apples and cinnamon) and sparkling water. I have been walking daily, so I am thirsty and I am drinking a lot of water. I have been eating watery fruits such as watermelon to help me with my cravings. It has been only 7 days but I am committed to continue with my goal. I am staying strong. Now, to get creative with my water intake!

I am a member of the ShiftCon Wellness Eco conference board. I am writing this post to create awareness about the conference. Things are changing. We have finally realized that we need to change what we eat and we need to move (Shift) the way we do things. We owe this to our kids and family. I have been collaborating with Mamavation and helping @bookiboo to create awareness about some healthy and nutrition issues. It is really sad to see all the diseases and problems that we have due to GMOs and chemicals in our food and products we use. That is why I was so happy to learn that next year we are having an Eco Wellness Social Media Conference. Yes, a space where social media and bloggers will have the chance to learn more and share lots of things about healthy living. I have great news for you. I was provided with product and compensation for my time and honest opinions. So, 2013 is the year for me to become healthier. I am doing things that I had never though about before. So, I am not only losing weight, but I am changing the way I do things. I am exercising, I am eating healthier and I am involving my family on the changes. I am challenging myself to try new things and do more fun things. So when I heard about the color me rad 5k, I was very interested. Not only this is going to be my first official 5k, but also it is going to be a really fun one. In this race, you start the day with a white t-shirt and end up all full of color. It is for all ages, so I am motivating my son to race with me. It is a very fun way to get active I will be doing the one in Los Angeles on 05/15/13, but you can check the website to see if there are races near your hometown. Not only the races are fun but they sponsor a local non-profit organization as well. In California this year they are donating to the Special Olympics of Southern California. Disclosure: i was provided with a free ticket for the race, but all opinions are my own.
