When I found out that I was pregnant we started looking for names right away. We wanted to pick 3 female and 3 male names to narrow it down once we knew the baby's sex. The main factor for us to pick up a name was a name that sounded well both in English and Spanish.

With the holidays here and kids off school, we are all thinking about taking a vacation. So many destinations but let's be real, the price of airfare makes it super hard for families to go on a last minute trip. However, when I think about some of the best vacations I have ever taken, I think about road trips.

My fondest memories from growing up in Colombia are all the holidays, especially Christmas, it was my favorite time of the year. I can close my eyes and smell the food, see the colorful decorations, listen to the sound of all the fireworks going off at midnight and even hear the Villancicos (Spanish Christmas Carols). There is nothing like celebrating La Nochebuena with the family. When you grow up in a Latino family, you learn early in your life that the holidays are a celebration of heritage, tradition and family.

It is hard to believe that the holidays are here, it seems that it was just yesterday that i was celebrating Christmas in Colombia with my family. Wow, this year went fast. So it is time for some eggnog, hot chocolate, start buying all the presents and off course to take the pictures with the big buy, Santa Claus.
