Have you ever heard of bento? I learned about Bento a few months ago, when browsing the internet to look for healthier lunch alternatives to pack my son for school. Let’s be real, the lunch provided at school is not that nutritious and I was looking for different ideas to keep my son interested on his lunches and make them fun. That is when I became a fun of bento, but I have to admit I am just barely learning. That is why I was so happy when I was given the opportunity to review the book Cooking with Trader Joe's Cookbook: Easy Lunch Boxes The book provides with very easy to prepare lunches not only for school but for work and even to take for picnics. The book written by the famous Kelly Lester with her EasyLunchbox System is perfect for busy mommies and all those that want to get creative and pack healthy and nutritious lunches. There are over 100 recipes with easy to prepare lunches and snacks that for sure will be appealing to both kids and adults. The book has in mind every one, and has recipes for the entire family, even with options that are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free. Cooking with Trader Joe’s Cookbook: Easy Lunch Boxes is available at bookstores everywhere including Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com beginning September 15th (hardcover, $24.95, Brown Bag Publishers. Being creative to pack school lunches can be a challenge. That is why when I saw the bat shaped sandwich cutters and I knew I had the perfect idea for a Halloween bento lunch (and later on for a Batman fan bento lunch). This time around it was a whole wheat bread with cheese, turkey, pastrami, lettuce and some light mayo. For the sides we had some strawberries, some pineapple and yogurt. Back to school and thinking how to make my son's lunches appealing.
I am a very new at #Bento but at least my son loves them. |
