Drinking Around The World in Epcot

​Some of the destinations and events mentioned on this post were complimentary or a media rate was extended as part of my attendance to the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration–an invite-only conference held by Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line.

​A proof that Disney World is not just for kids is that you can challenge yourself to drink one at each of the 11 countries featured in the World Showcase at Epcot Center. If you have never been at Epcot, look at the map below so you can have an idea of how it looks like.

Around the lake you will find 11 pavilions representing the following countries: Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, United States of America, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom and Canada. You can decide to go left and start in Mexico or go  right to start in Canada. The idea is to start out at one end of World Showcase, and continue through the countries drinking at each country.

At each pavilion you will find dinning, shopping and some kind of attractions pertaining to the county. Your challenge is to have a cocktail, beer, glass of wine or alcoholic drink from that country.

If you start your day around 10:30 am when some of the restaurants open to the public that means that you have less than an hour enjoy each drink before you have to buy the next one. Here are some tips for you:

• Eat before you start your challenge
• Budget accordingly: Expect to spend about $7 to $17 per drink (plus food and water in between)
• Drink plenty of water in between drinks and have some food/snacks
• If you can share your drinks with someone do so
• It is ok to skip one or two countries
• Make it an All-Day Affair  
• Explore the Pavilions as you enjoy your drink
• Pace yourself. It is not a competition!

We looked around and saw California wines and craft beers, but this is something we can have at home, so we decided to skip the drinks in here and move on the the next country.
