Maizitos con queso (Corn Kernel with Cheese)

I was so lucky to receive a complementary corn kit to review. The first think that came to my mind was to prepare Maizitos con questo, a colombian recipe that brings me so many memories form my childhood. It is a very easy recipe to make and the corn kit had the perfect tools to facilitate the preparation.

There is a few products from Zyliss that I need to get for my kitchen once we are done with updating our cabinets and counters, but the Corn Kit is a gathering of all the tools you will need to cook with corn and have a sucessful BBQ

The Corn Kit includes: Corn Butterer, Corn Silker, Interlocking Corn Holders and Corn Stripper

The products are made with good materials, are dishwasher safe, heat resistant and very sturdy. The company has Swiss innovation and it is now available in the US with other products that for sure will make cooking easier.

Maizitos con queso -recipe

Ingredients

• 4 cups corn kernels (frozen or fresh)
• 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
• 1 cup parmesan cheese (for topping)
• Thousand Island dressing 

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F

In a pot bring water to a boil and add corn kernels. Cook for about 3-4 minutes.

With a Corn Stripper, peel the corn

Place the corn into on an oven resistant plate. Cover with mozzarella cheese and dressing. Bake for around 20 min covered with aluminum foil. Then remove foil and cook for 5 minutes. Top with the parmesan cheese. 

Some people also add bacon on top of the cheese.

Time to enjoy and try not to eat the whole plate by myself.
