8 Reasons to stay at Hofsas House Hotel in Carmel by the Sea

One of our favorite places for a weekend getaway is Carmel by the Sea. we love it, because it is family friendly, but it is also a great place for romantic weekend away to celebrate an anniversary or birthday. This was the case for us. My husband and I took off for the weekend to celebrate our 16th anniversary and my husband's birthday.

1. Location

It’s In Carmel; do I have to say more? Hofsas House is just a few minutes’ walk from fine restaurants, boutique shops, art galleries, antique shops, and the stunning beach. It is also located just within two minutes of the famous Carmel Wine Walk. This beautiful hotel is just a few miles away from Pebble Beach, just minutes away from Monterey and Big Sur.

2. It’s a boutique hotel

​All the rooms are slightly different; room keys are the old fashioned turnkey locks. The rooms are furnished in old school Bavarian theme; it gives it a very classic European style.

3. Room amenities

​The rooms are big and come with toiletries, hairdryer and 4 cup coffee maker. Select rooms have a fireplace. The rooms have great black-out curtains, perfect if you want to sleep in. All rooms have an In-room refrigerator, plenty of blankets, towels, and pillows. Free Wi-Fi in all rooms. Rooms come with TV with cable channels. There are Dutch doors in every room.

4. ​Hotel amenities

​The hotel has a heated outdoor pool and dry sauna. Most rooms have Ocean views, a balcony or a deck with an ocean view. Free parking is available on site. There are no elevators so you might need to carry your suitcases (but there are only 3 floors). The hotel has a vending machine and an ice machine.

5. Free breakfast

Daily free continental breakfast with seasonal fruit, French roast coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, milk and fresh pastries from a local bakery, including a delicious buttery croissant, Breakfast can be enjoyed in the lobby near the fireplace or you can take a tray back to your room.

6. Friendly Staff

​The Hofas House hotel is family owned and when you check in you feel like a member of the family. The friendly staff will gladly give you a map of Carmel and show you and how to get to the best restaurants and wine tasting locations in the area. They will also suggest things to do in Monterey and surrounding areas.

7. Pet friendly

​Carmel by the Sea loves dogs and Hofsas House hotel loves them too. The pet-friendly rooms come with a pet bed, dog toys, and treats. Now you don’t need to leave your fury family members at home.
