Disclosure: Hofsas House hosted our stay for purposes of this review. All opinions are mine, as always.
Winter break was going to be over and since we will busy with school and work, we decided to take a mini-vacation to recharge batteries and enjoy the awesome views California has to offer. We drove up the coast from Ventura County to Carmel-by-the-Sea, a little town near Monterey. The trip was full of adventures and we got to experience nature and we had a fantastic family time.
We were on the car for about 6 hours. When we arrived to the hotel we were tired and I was feeling like I just wanted to go to bed. However as we were checking in, the staff at Hofsas House gave us a cordial welcoming and gave us plenty of ideas about what to do in town, and we changed our mind set and we decided to explore the town.
Pretty much since the moment you set foot and the hotel you feel charmed and relaxed. Even the welcome sign door is inviting.
The staff warm hospitality is notorious in every way. They are very helpful at all times. The hotel has a German European architecture (Bavarian theme) with 38 unique rooms. The hotel is located on the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea, walking distance from boutique stores, art galleries and great restaurants.
The hotel counts with an all year heated pool, sauna and very spacious rooms. Some rooms are pet friendly. All the rooms are decorated with charm and personal touches. Some rooms have Pacific Ocean views and fireplaces. They have private balconies, refrigerators and microwaves. The hotel also counts with some family friendly rooms that offer separate bedrooms for kids and parents. The WiFi is complimentary and works well. Parking is free. I really loved the Bavarian murals and paintings at the hotel, because they were cute and PINK...
Although we were really impressed with the room size and amenities (they are not luxurious but they are comfortable), what we loved the most about this family owned hotel is the hospitality and service. They provided us with maps, information the town and surroundings to make our trip more enjoyable.
The Hofsas House has been owned and run by the Theis family for over 60 years. They’re very helpful with everything thing you need.
The hotel also offers free continental breakfast that you can enjoy in the lobby as you talk with other tourist or you can take a tray to your room. There are welcome packages available with wine and cheese (Or champagne and cheese) and they have also spa services (massages) available.
By the end of our trip, my son was ready to start his fist wee at school, I was ready to go back to work and the whole family felt re-charged and energized.

We are planning a family trip. This hotel seems great since it has big rooms. What would you recommend for us to do with the kids to have fun? They are 6 and 9. Thanks
