Thank you Apple TV for inviting us to be part of the drawing class and participate in the virtual junket. If you are looking to watch a visually stunning animated movie, Wolfwalkers is my recommendation for the holidays. Steaming on Apple TV this Friday, December 11th, this movie will captivate you, not only because of the beauty of the artistic animation, but because the story has elements that will have you glued to the TV until the movie is over. About the movieIn a time of superstition and magic, when wolves are seen as demonic and nature an evil to be tamed, a young apprentice hunter, Robyn, comes to Ireland with her father to wipe out the last pack. But when Robyn saves a wild native girl, Mebh, their friendship leads her to discover the world of the Wolfwalers and transform her into the very thing her father is tasked to destroy. Watch a trailerDrawing classDuring the virtual junket the kids (and adults) were able to enjoy a Direct-To-Draw Tutorial. Here is a sneak peek of what we got to do. Virtual JunketWe also had a virtual junket with filmmakers Tomm Moore (Director) and Ross Stewart (Director) as well as Maria Pareja (Art Director) and Grainne Fordham (Layout Artist). Some of the bloggers had their kids asks some questions and some of the parents got ask a few. Here are some of the highlights of the interviews Q. How long did it take to make this movie A. Since the beginning of the idea it took 7 years, but it only took 3 years to actually make the film and the production. Q. What would you like audiences to take away from the movie? A. They would like kids to know that the unknown is not always bad. That you have to learn to push boundaries and always try to be brave. Also that is important to protect nature and that we can all save the endangered species if we work together. Q. What type of research did you do when it came to learn about wolves behavior? A. Ireland doesn't have wolves, so the research was done by watching videos and seeing how the wolves behave when they are not hunting. It was actually really cool to see that they are playful and not always aggressive as we all have learned in the past about them WOLFWALKERS will premiere on Apple TV+ on Friday, December 11thPlease note that I watched Wolfwalkers at home. Before making the decision to see it—or any other film—in a movie theater, please consider the health risks involved since we are in the middle of a pandemic.
