It was not until 1960 when the production of wine for commercial use started. Now Santa Maria Valley is well known for their fine wine and the world-famous Santa Maria Style BBQ.
Right now there are more than thirty-four wineries and tasting rooms in the area which is famous for their Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah. In our last weekend getaway we decided to explore some of them.
