Some of the destinations and events mentioned on this post were complimentary or a media rate was extended. As usual all opinions, typos and grammatical errors are my own. Santa Maria Valley has the perfect weather for growing grapes. History take us back to the 1830s when the Mexican ranchers starting the process. It was not until 1960 when the production of wine for commercial use started. Now Santa Maria Valley is well known for their fine wine and the world-famous Santa Maria Style BBQ. Right now there are more than thirty-four wineries and tasting rooms in the area which is famous for their Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah. In our last weekend getaway we decided to explore some of them. Ca' Del GrevinoCa’ Del Grevino Café & Tasting Room in old town Orcutt has a very welcoming atmosphere. The Café & Wine Bar serves lunch, full dinners, and wine tasting. Ca’ Del Grevino, meaning “House of Grewal Family Wines” is located at 400 E. Clark Ave. Orcutt, CA 93455
CA’ Del Grevino wines come with four different designations, CA’ Del Grevino, Grevino, Element and Red Carpet. During our wine tasting experience we were able to taste Grevino and Element designations and compare the flavors of Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, Dolcetto, Grenaches and Syrahs while seated near the fire place and enjoying good music. Nagy WinesA super cute wine tasting room boutique located at Old Orcutt is Cnagy. Cnagy is owned by Clarissa Nagy who became a wine maker after working in some wineries and gaining love for the fermentation process. Cnagy is located at 145 S. Gray Street Suite 103, Orcutt, CA 93455 and offers a very comfortable atmosphere and amazing costumer service.
Here we tried Pinot Blanc, Grenache, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Cottonwood CanyonCottonwood Canyon is a winery specializing in hand-crafted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Founded in 1988 by the Beko family has a beautiful 78 acre estate where you can enjoy the tasting room but also book a wine cave tour. Cottonwood Canyon was the first winery in Santa Barbara County to build wine caves! They are located at 3940 Dominion Road, Santa Maria, CA 93454
Here we tried Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a new favorite for me, the Chance Dessert Syrah. Do not forget to book a a cave and tasting tour when visiting Cottonwood Canyon!

I would really love to take a cave tour and taste wine from the barrel. I think I will ask my husband to take me to Santa Maria for my birthday
