With the extreme climate in Canada, you might want to have the right air conditioning system. This will enable you to sleep comfortably at night and stay the day without being too hot and bothered. AC systems are becoming more modernized thanks to the advanced technology available in the market. With more energy-efficient systems, you are assured of upgrading to the right AC system for you.
Types of Air conditioners in the market
Choosing the right air conditioner for you varies depending on your location, the size of the system, and your functionality. The main air conditioners in the market are classified as below:
Central Air conditioner
This is one of the popular air conditioners available in the market currently present in most homes in America for heating and air conditioning. This air conditioner has the capability of keeping the entire house warm and is suitable for large houses. With a well-organized duct system that can include a furnace system at no extra ductwork, this air conditioner has air filters that clean the indoor air freeing it from dust particles.
Ductless Air conditioner
A ductless air conditioner does not have any ductwork present but works the same as a central air conditioner. They can also be split systems which comprise of two units placed inside and outside the house. When opting for split systems, you should know that each room has to have one since they have no ducts.
What is SEER in Air conditioners
SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating) is the energy efficiency unit found in an air conditioner. Higher ratings mean the air conditioning system has a high-efficiency capability. Systems with higher SEER ratings cost significantly higher than those with less, therefore making you save money in energy efficiency over time. For instance, a heating and air conditioning might have the highest SEER rating of 12, while another one will have the highest rating of 21.
Always ensure the filters in your AC are clean and the airflow is not restricted to prevent it from freezing up midway while running. If the filter is restricted, you can thaw up the system by switching off the system and turning on the fan to allow whatever has been caught between to be phased out. Ensure your restore to normal settings after. A dirty refrigerator coil or a defective dryer or refrigerant may also cause the AC to stop running. It is best to look for a professional by searching air conditioning service near me to find one in your area. Always check on their experience level and certification of operation. Your technician is more likely to advise you on the right air conditioner to purchase based on your needs. What to consider when choosing an air conditioner
It is advisable to compare different air conditioner modules before settling on one. This will help you gauge the energy efficiency of the system, therefore, settling on one that matches your heating and air conditioning needs. Also think about the future maintenance and repair, so you might want to do a search for HVAC contractors Los Angeles or whichever your location is. Getting someone in your area will work in your favor in case you need experts to come over to do maintenance and repairs.
You should also consider the purpose of the air conditioner. Is it for the entire house or just for use in a room? Smaller houses will be comfortable with a room conditioner as it will serve the purpose needed despite being less efficient in energy loss. Larger homes will require a central air system that operates through the entire house, therefore, giving extensive reach.

Having a "Split" air conditioner that doesn't rely on ductwork really sounds interesting. Since we have several rooms here at home, I can see this kind of system working much better than one central unit since it will allow us to have a lot more coverage. If I can find an HVAC expert in the area, I'll ask them to get me some units like these.

Ductless air conditioning systems are also a good choice if you’re building an addition to your home. They also often cost less than extending the ductwork of your central HVAC system to the new addition.

It really helped when you said that the right AC system for us would be depending on the location we are in, the function we need, and its size of it. I will move to a two-bedroom apartment together with my partner and two dogs. It will help if I get a unit that will be able to cover all the rooms to make it easier to set the temperature of the whole house for our dogs' comfort.
