The Starling movie
Can your relationship survive a tragedy? Most relationships can't. Actually the rate of divorce after a tragedy in the family is really high. The Starling (now in theaters and soon coming to Netflix) is a drama movie that will show you the power of counseling and reaching out for help to get over one of the harderst things a parent can experience, the loss of a child.
About the movie
After Lilly (Melissa McCarthy) suffers a loss, a battle with a territorial bird (The Starling) over dominion of her garden provides an unlikely avenue for her grief and the courage to heal her relationships and rediscover her capacity for love.

Did we like it?
In dark times it is good to have hope. This movie is all about hope and how relationships can survive even the hardest times, but you have to work on them. It is a sad movie, so I recommend only watching it with older kids, because it can be really dark and sad at times. It does have a mix of humor to compensate the sad moments, but overall it is more drama than comendy
This week I participated in a virtual junket with Director Ted Melfi and Producer Kimberly Quinn. We discussed things such as casting, message they want people to take away from movie, the reason why they changed the gender of the main character, and much more. Watch the interview here:
