For those that love Halloween as much I do, here it is the perfect stocking stuffer. The Blu-Ray of the movie The House With A Clock In Its Walls is available today to take home.
About the movie
Ten-year-old Lewis goes to live with his oddball uncle in a creaky old house that contains a mysterious `tick tock’ noise. He soon learns that Uncle Jonathan and his feisty neighbor, Mrs. Zimmerman, are powerful practitioners of the magic arts. When Lewis accidentally awakens the dead, the town’s sleepy facade suddenly springs to life, revealing a secret and dangerous world of witches, warlocks and deadly curses.
Movie production
I was invited to take part of the press day held in Los Angeles at Universal Studios for the release of the Blu-Ray last month. We had a fun afternoon with Director Eli Roth, Composer Nathan Barr, Owen Vaccaro and producer Brad Fischer (props and set design) and we got to talk to them about the movie. Here are some pictures of the props used during production. Here it is a look behind-the-scenes at the props from the film. How cool are they?
Brad Fischer told us that some of the automatons were made from scratch and others came from antique shops. They are creepy looking, aren't they?
The Chair from the film (if you have seen the movie you know it is like a dog) was part made with part animation with computer and part operated like a puppet.
Interview with Eli Roth and Owen Vaccaro
I also had the opportunity to do an on camera interview with Director Eli Roth and cast member Owen Vaccaro. Watch the clip below to learn if the house were they filmed was haunted among other things...
We also learned from Nathan Barr that he used the organ that he spent years restoring and takes up to 5 rooms, (he actually built the studio around the organ) to compose the music for the movie. If you want to know a secret, the music is one of our favorite parts on scary movies.
You can order your copy of the movie using my affiliated link below and if you do so, you will be contributing to our love for movies
