The best way to enjoy the Vuelta a Oriente (east tour) in Medellin

​La Vuelta a Oriente is one of the most traditional tours in Medellín. In one day you get to experience the most beautiful landscapes made up of green plants, lagoons, traditional buildings adorned by the most beautiful flowers. You can breathe pure air in the countryside. This tour is also known as the Green Route of Antioquia and it is usually done by car or bus.

Our family loves adventures and since the moment I got our tickets to Colombia i have been looking for things to do while on vacation that are far from ordinary. Although we had fun watching the Christmas Lights and visiting my family, I knew going throught the mountains on ATV was going to be something super fun.

Just imagine crossing three different mountains on all types of surfaces. Crossing through rivers, mud pits and even dirving off roads exploring. All while on an ATV guided by a very knowledgeable tout guide. It sounds like a cool plan, does'nt it? Well it was. We had a blast.

After a lot of research on the internet and a couple of phone calls I found a place that for a reasonable price, offered a 4 hour tour. (they also offer shorter tours, but we were looking for the best of the best). They were easy to work with and very friendly. They even speak English which is a plus for my hubby. 

Once we got to Guarne (a town 45 minutes from Medellin), our tour guide, Juan Pablo gave us some instructions on how to drive the ATVs and then off the the mountains we went. Since my husband loves motorcycles, we went fast and Juan Pablo was really showing us all his skills. I was on two wheels on a four wheel ATV. That was super cool!

We crossed three mountains and enjoyed not only the thrill of the ride but amazing landsacapes views. It was such a great adventure that we want to do it again soon.
