We were invited by KOA Ventura and GoRVing to spend a few days at the cabins, however, all opinions, typos, and grammatical errors and my own.
Did you know that Glamping has been named one of the five hottest trends in girl’s getaways by TravelChannel.com? I would have to agree. Going glamping is a great way to connect with your friends, and enjoy good food, and cherish the beautiful scenery without giving up the comforts of civilization when on vacation.
I wanted to plan a trip together for some of my blogging friends, so I decided to plan a glamping trip at KOA Ventura Ranch. A lot has happened since the last time I visited the location for a family trip. For instance, the famous Thomas fire destroyed a huge part of the campgrounds. As a matter of fact, the cabins we stayed at are brand new.
The old cabins were great, but the new ones, are extraordinary. The outside gives you the camping feeling with a picnic table, a BBQ grill and the fire-pit perfect for s’mores. The two cabins we stayed at are the first cabins in the US to have an upper deck that is perfect to enjoy your coffee in the morning or observe the sunset with a cup of wine in the evening.
The cabins have a living room with pull out couch, dining table, kitchen with tableware, microwave, coffee maker, stove, and refrigerator. They also have a private bathroom with shower, hot water and master bedroom. The upstairs loft area comes with mattresses and blankets. You also have heater or A/C (depending of the season_ and Wi-Fi Watch the video below for a walking tour of the cabin
From the cabins you can hear the Santa Paula Creek. If the weather is nice you can even take a dip in the Big Foot Water Hole. There are plenty of hiking trails in the area, or you can just enjoy the view and stay inside enjoying silly conversation and wine.
Be on the lookout because the wild peacocks come regularly to visit. I was very pleased to learn they did not suffer during the fires.
If the group wants some fun activities, you can join the tie dye t-shirts, the panning for gold or rock climbing.
KOA Ventura is a great place to have a staycation getaway with your girlfriends. The campground is only 4 miles away from Santa Paula, so you can even go out to the town for dinner and drinks.
We had the best couple of days. We drank, we played board games, we cooked, we eat, we karaoke, we just let loose. I can’t wait to plan our next getaway, where should we go next?
