Around a month ago I visited the Yeti Village in Hollywood and screened the movie. I was very happy to be invited for the junket and learn more about the movie, here it is what I learned during a fun day with other bloggers

About the movie

An animated adventure for all ages, with original music and an all-star cast, “Smallfoot” turns the Bigfoot legend upside down when a bright young Yeti finds something he thought didn’t exist—a human.

News of this “smallfoot” throws the simple Yeti community into an uproar over what else might be out there in the big world beyond their snowy village, in an all new story about friendship, courage and the joy of discovery.

Learning from the cast

Karey Kirkpatrick told us that it took them about six years to make the movie: "from soup to nuts, it was about six years I think from the first day that they decided to make it to release date".
The movie was not musical until January 2017
Karey Kirkpatrick told us that what keeps her inspired is "Just good ideas, I think. You know, I--and I--they need to be kind of about something for me to be able to--especially a movie that takes this long. They take up a lot of your life".
Kary Kirkpatrick also told us that she wants kids to learn new things form the movie: "you know what, kids go to movies and they think, oh, to be hero, just slay a dragon, to blow up the death star, and that takes courage. Courage is actually standing up and doing the right thing when it's hard. To stand up and actually tell the truth, you know, when that is not the popular thing to do.”
Channing Tatum: had a few things to say about the message for the movie: "accepting the truth is hard, you know, sometimes. And change is kind of scary, but if you kind of accept that about it, it doesn't have to be that scary. It can be a joyous thing."
The favorite thing about Migo from Channing Tatum is that: "Migo is just a believer, you know? He's a believer and he's truthful probably first, and that's why I think, you know, he was kind of the perfect person to have--kind of have to go on this journey and to be kind of tasked with this--really it's a--it was a scary thing. I mean, he thought his world was perfect. And it's easy to know that change needs to happen if things aren't good. But, in his mind, things were literally perfect, and he didn't want anything to change."
