SHAZAM movie review

SHAZAM! will be in theaters starting today Friday, April 5th.

For a geek family like ours, going to the movies to watch super hero movies is a must. We have been thrilled with all the hero movie releases. We love the DC universe, but we have to be honest, the latest movies have not been the best, so we were very pleased with SHAZAM, because it is actually worth the time and money to watch it in theaters.

About the movie

​We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's case, by shouting out one word - SHAZAM! - this streetwise fourteen-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult superhero Shazam.

Did we like it?

We actually did. After a few DC Universe movies not being as great as we were hoping, both my son and I really enjoyed the movie. It is rated PG 13 for a reason. So I would advice caution if taking little ones, however for older kids and adults is very entertaining.

I did't think the villain was strong enough, but the jokes were on point and if you just want to watch a fun movie, then this is it. I am not expecting the movie to win any awards, but you will enjoy watching it.
