After a long year of school, my son is ready for his summer break. We have a very extensive curriculum for his homeschool and his summer break is not traditional. He might have to still take some online classes, but he will have time to relax and for sure we need to prepare for the fall when we start the full curriculum again. We start preparing for our summer break with enough time in advance so we know we will accomplish everything we want. Make sure all the work for the current school year is completeMake sure all the due homework is turned in and that the curriculum has been completed. Decide if there is anything that needs to be kept for the following term or things can be donated. Work with your child of picking the new curriculum and make sure things will be reading for back to school season. Clean the homeschool areaTake everything down and clean the whole room. Keep what you are going to use when back to school and storage, donate or sell the rest. Find new cool things on sale at stores to decorate area for next term. Organize and make a list of things you will need for back to school. Get some books to promote summer readingSummer break does not need to mean that education stops. Help your child find books at the library or book store and keep him motivated during the summer to read while on road trips on those moments when they are "bored" during the school break. This is the time of fun reading, so let your child pick the books. Plan fun activitiesMake a list of things you guys what to accomplish. What is on our list?
