Helping my son stay entertained while we are on road trips is easier since we got our Nintendo Switch. He loves being able to play online with his friends and the great variety of games available. He was so excited when I told him we were getting a copy of the  Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, where he gets to Explore & Protect the Pokémon World!

About the game

The world of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is inhabited only by Pokémon. When you first open your eyes, you'll see a Pokémon in front of you. And, for some reason, you can understand what they’re saying. You quickly realize that you've become a Pokémon!

According to the Pokémon you meet, natural disasters have suddenly started occurring all over this world, causing all kinds of problems. You and your partner Pokémon decide to form a rescue team to go help Pokémon that are in trouble.

What is the cause of the changes to this world, and just why have you mysteriously become a Pokémon?

What makes it fun?

You’ll get job requests from Pokémon that need help via the Bulletin Board outside the Pelipper Post Office or from letters in the mailbox at your rescue team base. As you complete jobs, your rescue team’s rescue points will increase. When you collect enough points, your rescue team’s rank will go up. Can your team reach the Gold rank?

As you work as a rescue team, you can befriend a wide variety of Pokémon besides just your partner. Sometimes, Pokémon you rescue will join your rescue team. Since different Pokémon know different moves, choosing which Pokémon you bring along when you head out on a rescue job is important when considering how you’ll take on a dungeon.

Our review

The newest installment of the Mystery Dungeon Franchise brings a fresh taste to an old game, with it being you could say an upgraded version of the original Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Blue and Red Rescue team, having new features such as Mega Evolution and updated graphics.

The game immerses you into a society of Pokémon and you get to choose your own Pokémon who you play as, and a partner who you may also choose. The two of you work to together to form a Rescue Team saving, Defenseless Pokémon from Mystery Dungeons!

Overall, this newest game feels like completely new game regardless of it being very close to the game it was originally based off.
