For a family that loves to be on the road, finding a comfortable car that has enough power to handle different type of roads is important. We were lucky to partner again with DriveShop to test drive a Mazda CX5 for a week and we are thinking we found the vehicle we want to buy next.
We loved the Mazda CX3 but we wanted to see if there was another car in the market that met our needs of luggage room while not being bulky. The Mazda CX5 seats 5 and is considered a CUV meaning it is smaller than a SUV but it bigger then a car, so if you need room for traveling stuff or sport staff you will have plenty in this car.
It has a lot of trunk space for luggage and groceries. It has a very comfortable interior, with leather seats that are easy to clean. Plenty of room leg as well for long trips.
The interior design is good looking, but the outside is even better. Looks sporty and has a lot of power, and if you press the sport bottom you can feel the acceleration power as well.
We took Cherry for a drive around Santa Monica Mountains and she was safe to drive, manage well the curvy road and steep mountains, showing that breaking is not a problem and power to go up is just as easy as driving on flat but busy freeway roads
The only con I can find is that the navigation system and control panel for radio, etc is powered by a stick. So you pretty much need to set up everything before you get on the road. If you need to change the radio station, it would require to take your eyes of the road to find the option. Other than that this is an awesome car and we are actually stating the process to look for one as our new vehicle.
