Lion King Movie Review

THE LION KING arrives in theaters everywhere on July 19th! 

It has been my favorite Disney movie of all times. Back then I fell in love with the story, the music, the characters. I even named my German Shepard dog Nala, because I love the movie. I am so happy that Disney is bringing back my favorite movie to theaters.

About the movie

​Disney’s “The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau, journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his. The all-star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon. Utilizing pioneering filmmaking techniques to bring treasured characters to life in a whole new way

Did we like it?

Yes, we loved it. We can say it is similar to the original but has new developments in the story to make it fresh. The songs are amazing. I have to admit I was scared, but I can say I am pleased with the new movie. Now I want to own all the stuff animals and will be singing Can you feel the love tonight over and over again.

I guess in terms of scary, some of the scenes that were sad and scary in the original movie and even more scary on this one, so you know your kids and what they can handle. I would recommend maybe leaving little ones at home for this one and taking your kids 6 and older to watch it.
