It is time to start baking for Halloween and get the house smelling like fresh bake cookies, well a huge fresh baked cookie that is perfect for everyone that loves Disney and Halloween. It is the Jack Skellington Skillet Cookie.

Inspired by one of our favorite movies, The Nightmare Before Christmas, this Jack Skelligton Skillet Cookie is the prefect treat to enjoy as a dessert for movie night. It is big enough that you can share it, although I will not judge you if you decide to keep it all for yourself. 

Ingredientes

​For The Cookie:

• 2 C flour 1 tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp kosher salt
• ¾ C unsalted sweet cream butter butter
• ¾ C sugar
• ¾ C light brown sugar
• 1 large egg
• 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
• 1 ½ C Halloween M&M’s

For The Vanilla Frosting:

• 1 Cup unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
• 2 Cups powdered sugar
• 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
• 4 Tablespoons heavy whipping cream
• 2 disposable piping bags
• Black gel food coloring

Preparation

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9inch cast iron skillet with nonstick baking spray.
2. Add butter, sugar and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl.
3. Using an electric mixing cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar together until smooth.
4. Add in the egg and pure vanilla extract to the mixing bowl.
5. Beat until light and fluffy.
6. Sift flour, salt, and baking soda in an additional large bowl.
7. Slowly add 1/3rd of the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
8. Beat after each addition to mix all ingredients.
9. Fold in the 1 C of M&M’s
10. Scoop the batter into the prepared skillet.
11. Smooth the top of the dough with an offset spatula or butter knife.
12. Sprinkle the remaining M&M’s on top
13. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
14. Set aside to cool completely before decorating.

​While the cookie is cooling, it’s time to make the frosting. You can skip this step and just use premade cans of frosting if you prefer.

1. Using a standing mixer, beat the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and heavy whipping cream until combined, smooth, and thick.
   
2. Scoop about 1 Cup of frosting into a small bowl and mix in a few drops of the black gel food coloring
   
3. Scoop the black frosting into 1 piping bag and set aside
   
4. Scoop the white frosting into the other piping bag
   
5. Cut the tips off each piping bag or use a round tip
   
6. Using the white frosting, pipe a oval/circle onto the cookie
7. Fill in the oval with white frosting and smooth evenly
   
8. Using the black frosting, pipe on the details of Jack Skellington’s face
   
9. Pipe a black outline around the white oval
10. Serve and Enjoy!
