Interesting Facts About The Movie Ralph Breaks The Internet

Ralph Breaks the Internet hits theaters on Nov. 21, 2018

One of the first movie events I covered when I started the blog was a press screening and junket for Wreck-it Ralph. My son and I really loved the movie. I am so excited for part two because we love all the characters and I know we are going to laugh again as we did back in 2012

​Thank you, Disney, for inviting me to “Ralph Breaks the Internet” early media day.

​We were invited to a special media day to learn about how the movie was made. We only saw clips of the movie, because it is still in development, so this is not a movie review post. However I do have super cool information and interesting facts about Ralph Breaks The Internet.

These are some of the cool things we learned about the movie

• The inspiration to create the world of the internet came from research. The creative team visited a building in Wisher Blvd in Los Angeles where all the servers for the internet are. They saw all the wires, boxes and cables and they designed the Internet based on that.

• There are two main types of citizens in the world of the internet: The Net Users and the Netizens. For the net users you will see the avatar of real people. The Netizens are there to help the Net Users.

• The story is based on the "new game" being brought into the arcade. The WiFi. The steering wheel of sugar rush game is broken and they need to find a replacement. It is too expensive and Penelope is afraid they are going to unplug her game and she will be homeless. Ralph comes to the rescue and travels through the WiFi to find eBay and get the steering wheel.
• A new character Yesss from Buzz Tube helps them raise the money they need to pay for the auction of the steering wheel by creating viral videos of Ralph. Soon they will discover that there is bullying online.

• One of the worlds that you are going to love is Oh My Disney. Wait until you see the scene with the princess wearing normal clothes. So funny.

• The film process is lengthy. First there is an idea presented to Directors. Then research is done to gather references and inspiration. The story department will work on the character dialog and then script writing using a lot of white boards. The writers come in, add the details to the script, then everything is pitched to the directors. The trick is to find the best idea like popular things that are happening right now in the real world.

About the movie

“Ralph Breaks the Internet” leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the Netizens—to help navigate their way, including Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of the trend-making site “BuzzzTube,” and Shank (voice of Gal Gadot), a tough-as-nails driver from a gritty online auto-racing game called Slaughter Race.
