As parents we are always concerned about our kids safety and as they grow sometimes is harder to keep them safe. Everyday activities such as riding a bike can put them at risk. Even with helmets and knee pads they can get injured. So when I learned about this California company, that is developing bikes with technology that will help our kids to ride a bike with a lower risk I was very impressed.
Guardian Bikes come in single speed and 6 speed. My son favorite was the 6 speed because he was able to go up the hill with less effort. Right now they are available in 20" but next spring they have plans to release a 24" for older kids.
Guardian Bikes counts with the patented technology SureStop that is a single lever brake system. We all know it is hard for kids to remember which lever controls the front and which one control the back brakes. With SureStop, the breaks activates the back break first and then the front one, so if your child have to stop suddenly, they will not fly over the bike handle.
Easy to assemble
Guardian Bikes will be available to purchase online soon, and when they arrive to your home, they will be almost fully assembled. You will only have to attach the handle bar and two pedals. You can assemble it in less than 4 minutes. My friend from SoCal Pocket Memories was able to put it together in 2:05 minutes!
Another advantage is that because of the bikes are made of aluminum they weight around 10 pound less than other bikes
We also got to see the Novara, a bike for adults, which also counts with the technology SureStop and will be available only at REI this October. Pretty much now moms (or dads) will be able to join the kids while riding around the neighborhood.
