Thank you KOA Campgrounds and Go Rving for inviting our family to enjoy the KOA Ventura Ranch for a weekend. All opinions expressed are my own.
I still remember when I was a little girl and my family used to go camping back in Colombia. I was all about being outside and playing with my friends or the kids that were at the camp side. Move forward some years and gosh, things have changed a lot.
When I went camping as an adult, I realized I have become more high maintenance and now I need a bathroom and hot water. I also want a comfortable bed. I am a "glamper".
Glamping is the term that is used colloquially, to refer to the glamorous form of camping, whether staying in a cabin or in a tent equipped with amenities and, in some cases, resort-style services not usually associated with "traditional" camping.
I still want to be outdoors and in touch with nature, but I want to do in in style. So when I got an invite for a media trip at KOA Ventura Ranch and I learned we were going to stay on one of their Deluxe Cabins, I knew it was going to be a perfect staycation for us.
Not only the campground is just 30 minutes form our home, but it offers several ways of accommodations, including cabins fully equipped with beds, bathrooms, electricity and even a flat screen T.V.
Let me tell you a little more about the accommodations available at KOA Ventura. KOA Ventura Ranch is a private campground, but it isn’t just for glamping. There is a nice area for tent camping and RV Camping as well. Accomodations at KOA Ventura RanchDeluxe Cabin
The fully furnished deluxe cabins come with a queen size bed with linens; towels, kitchen supplies, full size appliances, 38" flat screen TV with cable, DVD player, AC wall unit, Wi-Fi, full shower plenty of towels and shampoo and soap and an oversized deck with a gas BBQ grill. You'll also have your own fire pit for S’mores! The Deluxe Cabin has an upstairs sleeping loft and can accommodate up to 6 guests.
Penthouse Suites
There are only 3 of these but they are amazing. Located at the top of the hill, they have a super comfortable and luxurious bed, great looking furniture and pieces or art all over the house. They are only located at the KOA Ventura Ranch and they were built as part of the T.V show American Dream Builders. They have modern appliances, a full bathroom, and a big porch were you can enjoy nature and observe the peacocks that come and visit regularly.
Tipis (Teepee)
If you do not want to bring your own tent but do not want a lot of luxury you should consider the Teepees. They have a cute Native American design and come with beds and some furniture. You should bring your linens or contact KOA Ventura Ranch in advance for them to provide linens at an additional fee. Restroom and showers are located nearby.
Tent sites (you bring your own tent)
For those that love traditional camping, this is they way to go. Bring your own tent and enjoy the table and fire pit available for you to use. The restrooms are nearby.
There are two types for tent sites:
Glamour tents
Safari-like tents come with mini-fridge; bed with linens, electricity, microwave, and sofa futon. Restrooms are nearby. It also has a patio with fire-pit.
These tents are ideal if you’ve been practicing some simple guitar exercises and want to show off your skills to fellow campers. There’s plenty of room for instruments and the interior remains bone dry, regardless of how heavy the raid outside gets. You can sit indoors and sing kum-by-yah, or get outside for those long, summery evenings of musical fun RV camping (caravan type vehicle)
RV sites are offered in different areas through the place. They offer water and 50 Amp electric connections. Bathrooms are located nearby.

I LOVE glamping. I can do the old school camping thing, but I really love camping in rental cabins or an RV.

That's the only kind of camping you'll ever get me to do! There's no way I'll sleep in a tent. I'm not outdoorsy.

I used to think glamping was for whimps. Then my wife forced me to "camp" at a rented cabin, and I realized that it's awesome.

I enjoy camping of any kind! However, that tiny house and the glamour tents look like a great way to enjoy nature!

KOA Ventura Ranch sounds like a great place for glamping. I would love to rent a deluxe cabin or even stay in the teepee. Thanks for sharing this amazing place.

How cool is this adventure. We have never gone camping as a family yet, I would love to that when my children are big enough.

I love the old fashioned way of camping, but I think I would also love glamping. I'd love to try this.

Well glamping is glamorous camping at its finest! No longer are the days where you are required to sleep out under the stars in an old smelly dome tent, eating roasted wieners, and fighting off the bugs. My motto is why camp when you can glamp!

I have never been much of a tent girl and I love the idea of staying in a cabin or rv. We have some fun vacation plans coming up but I am already thinking about planning something like this for next year.

Now that is my kind of camping! Just because its glamping doesn't mean it is any less fun then tenting!

I've never gone on a camping trip before. Totally rather stay away from the potential bug bites that may occur but I'm glad you got to visit and lounge in tent.
