Lego Party (Part 2) This the second part of the Lego Party for my son. In part one I explained how we started the planning and the invitation. Today I will be showing you the party favors, food and giving you some game ideas. After we delivered the invitations, I started making the party favors. I took ideas from many blogs and had already gathered some supplies from Oriental Trading and Ebay I got small red bags at Walmart. My son’s birthday is on the month of February so finding red bags was pretty easy. I added some dots to the bags to make them look like Lego blocks and printed on Lego font the names of the kids to add a personalized touch. I wanted to have as many things Lego on the goody bags, but I did not want it to be really expensive. I saw in other blogs that you can make crayons and soap with molds, I got the molds at Ebay for those. I also used the molds to make chocolates for the bags and to have available at the party. I also included a little box with some Lego shaped chocolates. I added some Mini-figures that I found on sale at the Lego shop online, popcorn and a coloring book printed at home so they could use their crayons. As for the party decorations, I used Lego blocks (washed and disinfected) to build a container for the chips. I also found some really cool red plates to serve the meal. I had a platter with Lego shaped chocolates. We had the party at a local Children Musuem and they had a party room so it was easy to decorate and serve Next week on Part 3, I will be sharing the games, food and cake. Do not miss it...

LEGO party (Part One) My son turned seven and he loves Legos. Well every boy loves Legos, but in my son case it is an addiction. I have Legos all over the house. I have so many storage containers and somehow I still step on them of find them under the blankets. *sigh* He wanted a Hero Factory theme, but it was hard to find supplies so I convinced him to have the mean theme Legos and just the cake of Hero Factory. I researched a lot and found really cool ideas that I kind of incorporated into our own needs and I will be doing a series or post on how we planned for our party. The first thing I did was research for ideas for a Lego party. I found a great website with ideas that you can incorporate in different parties depending of the age of the kids. Birthday party ideas have resources on invitations, decorations, games and food for a lot of themes. For our Lego party I chose a classic, primary color Lego RED. Since my son birthday is in February (yes I know I am a little late on posting), it was easy to find red supplies that were available for Valentine’s. The first step was creating the invitation. I do not like to use plain invitations or those that you find at the store. I used the ideas from other moms and the final product was “Mystery” invitation. I used little plastic containers that I found at Oriental Trading. Inside the containers we included some Lego blocks with the party information on them and the invitation had the clue on how to put together the invitation to find out the place and details for the party. One series 2 of the post I will be talking about party food, favors, decorations and food.
