Catal Restaurant in Downtown Disney

Any Disney fan knows that going to Disneyland also means stopping at Downtown Disney District and shop your way around. It also means having some delicious food at one of the restaurants there. Today was not an exception. My friend and I stopped to eat at Catal Restaurant, one of the Patina Group restaurants at Downtown Disney. 

The restaurant atmosphere offers a little break from the loud crowds at Disneyland. Although you can still enjoy outside seating on the balcony overlooking the people passing by Downtown Disney. On a nice weather day, like most days at SoCal, I recommend trying to get an outside table.

The food

This is one of the restaurants in Downtown Disney District where you can expect delicious bites. The food is Upscale Mediterranean with a great list of wines and cocktails. It is pricey, but then everything at Disney and Downtown Disney is pricey. That being said, I would recommend this for special occasions or for your "splurge" meal while visiting the parks.

Deviled eggs

Bacon Confit, Sriracha Aïoli and Capers, they were really good, make sure you do enjoy the sriracha sauce ​that is delicious. This is a great option of appetizer if you are on the Ketogenic diet

Steelhead Salmon

​Couscous, Red Onions, Cucumbers, Pickled Onion, Tzatziki, Harissa Vinaigrette. The salmon was fresh and delicious. 

Hanger Steak

Herb Chimichurri Sauce, Garlic-Herb Fries. Great cut of meat, good flavor. Sadly I did't have fries to stay Keto, however my friend couldn't stop eating them. 

Sticky toffee pudding

​A rum topped sticky toffee pudding, served warm with whipped cream. Delicious enough to use your eat your daily dose of carbs if you are on Keto! 

The drinks

Spicy cucumber margarita

​Maestro dobel tequila, lime juice, agave, cucumber, jalapeños, spicy rim
I asked for them to make it "skinny" to save some carbs. They were really cool about it and it was still delicious

Mai Tai

Cocktail aged in-house, very refreshing and delicious. It made me feel like if I was in a very tropical area.

Purple Galaxy

For a limited time and in anticipation for the opening of Galaxy Edge at Disneyland, this very delicious and refreshing cocktail is a must. It tastes like lemonade with vodka. It is made with Butterfly Pea Flower. I do hope they keep in in the menu after all the buzz for the new Star Wars Land at Disneyland.

The service was great, the food was delicious and I had a very great lunch date with my best friend. I will for sure be stopping back in another trip to Downtown Disney to try some of the other items on the menu.
