I am pretty sure that even if you haven't heard that term, you might know that some people have depression during the cold and dark winter months, that causes low energy and disrupt their ability to live normal lives. So, SAD is a mood disorder characterized by depression that occurs at the same time every year. It is very common with more than 3 million US cases per year. The symptoms include fatigue, depression, hopelessness, and social withdrawal. The good news is that it can be treated. The treatment includes light therapy (photo-therapy), counseling therapy, and medications. What is light therapy?Light therapy is a way to treat seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and certain other conditions by exposure to artificial light. During light therapy, you sit or work near a device called a light therapy box. The box gives off bright light that mimics natural outdoor light. Day-Light Classic Plus is one of the top therapy lamps on the market. It's been proven to help those that struggle with a lack of energy, sleep problems, and overall wellness due to lack of sunlight. This lamp effectively mimics sunlight to boost energy, improve sleep, and maintain wellness. The NEW Classic Plus emits the maximum dose of 10,000 LUX of glare-free white light at 12-14". Height and angle are easily adjusted, and the pedestal stand projects light downward as recommended by experts. Two light settings, therapy and task, make the NEW Classic Plus the versatile option for those who want the bright light therapy brand chosen by clinicians Why I choose photo-therapy?I do not know about your home, but mine was designed back in the 1970 and it is very dark. I also live near the beach and we have several months where the marine layer covers the sun for great part of the morning. Starting in October each year, I feel that my energy level goes down and I feel sad. It is hard to explain what I feel, but it normally lasts until March and then when Spring starts, I re-gain some of that energy. Let me show you how dark my house can be in a normal day during the morning time... When I heard about photo-therapy I did my research and I found a few lamps that I was interested on. I decided to go with the Carex Day-Light Classic Plus because the reviews were amazing. I am so glad I did, look at how bright the house is now at the same time of the day with the lamp on... Not only the light is helping me feel better but also gives me great lighting to read and to relax in my couch. I loved the lamp so much that I actually bought another one for my bedroom. I feel great even during the gloomy days outside. The only thing to consider is that this lamp is a little bulky, but a large model is recommended by doctors, so I guess it is part of getting results. Interested in learning more about light therapy? Light therapy used to be an expensive treatment. I am so grateful to see it can be done at home! How exciting!

This is awesome. We don't have winters in my country but once the monsoon season sets in, we get days and days of rain and that can affect my mood. I will see if that would be available in our online stores here.

That looks like a quality good looking lamp. I know where to place that in the bedroom if ever I have one.
