Buca di Beppo Restaurant review

This year I did something super cool. I had more than one birthday celebration. Being away from my Colombian family is not easy and I get very sentimental around my birthday. So I went ahead and planned or help my friends plan different birthday celebrations. My last one is today at one of favorite places: Buca di Beppo.

​Since the moment that you walk into the restaurant you get that Italian feeling. The decor is amazing, starting form the red and white table clothes that remind you of the Italian household table clothes to the pictures on the wall. It is all perfectly to help your dining  experience to be the best possible. Due to the unique decor, you can of feel you are in a museum. It is just so cool.

The food

When you order you must remember that the portion size is enough to feed a whole family. Even the small portions are perfect for 3, so plan ahead, or like us, order thinking that we are taking home leftovers for lunches for school and work for the rest of the week.

The chain has locations all across the US, but their fresh sauces are made from scratch daily in each restaurant. We love how fresh their food is. Their garlic bread and calamari are a must when you do visit. 

If you are on Keto they have salmon, Brussels sprouts and they can also prepare the chicken without breading for you. Ask your server, they are really nice about it. Also if you are gluten free, ask for the gluten free options.

Buca Trio Platter: Choose 3 of Buca Favorites: Spicy Shrimp, Fried Mac’n Cheese, and Fried Calamari

Fried Calamari

The fried calamari is ​served with homemade spicy marinara sauce. This is one of my favorites. Buca di Beppo marinara sauce is delicious. This is always a must

Spicy shrimp

It is ​golden fried shrimp & pepperoncini tossed with a spicy sauce of chilies & garlic. This was my husband's favorite. The spicy sauce was delicious.

Fried Mac’n Cheese  

This is ​creamy macaroni & cheese balls breaded & fried to a golden brown, served over a bed of sauce. This was my son's favorite. 

Main Dishes

Their main dishes are sold in small (feeds 3) and Large (feeds 5). Remember this when ordering. The good thing is that if you do not eat it all, then you get to enjoy leftovers for a few days. 

Prosciutto stuffed chicken

Chicken stuffed with mozzarella and prosciutto, served with homemade marinara and pesto cream sauce. Really good, I loved the flavors combined.

Tortellini Bianca

​Cheese-filled tortellini tossed with Grana parmesan cheese, baby portobello mushrooms, arugula & cream sauce.
My husband really loved this. I didn't eat it, however I did try the mushrooms and they were good.

Salmon with lemon butter sauce, Roma tomatoes & capers

Brussels Sprouts & Prosciutto

This is a side dish. Since I am doing Keto, I decided to order something I could eat. The proscuitto is crunchy. So delicious

The drinks

They offer wines, sparkling wines, cocktails and beers. I chose the Paloma Italiano because I knew it was refreshing and not too sweet. It was great pairing for the food as well.
