Bayside Summer Nights concerts at Embarcadero Marina Park

​Each summer the Embarcadero Marina Park South is transformed into a venue to enjoy music by the bay. The San Diego Symphony presents the Bayside Summer Nights concert with so many cool performances

If you read my blog and follow me in social media, by now you know that our family is a geek and love Star Wars. It just made sense that our first time attending a concert at the Embarcadero Marina Park for the Bayside Summer Nights series presented by the  San Diego Symphony was Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

We enjoyed the movie shown on the big screen as the San Diego Symphony orchestra performed the score from the movie. It was so much fun

Make your visit a fun experience by packing a picnic. Yes, you can bring food and snacks to the venue. Leave alcohol and glassware at home. But don't panic. You can still buy alcohol at the at concessions stand, that also have some food available just in case you didn't want to bring anything with you.

Tips to make your visit better

• Most concerts begin at 7:30 p.m, so I suggest that you arrive at least 30 minutes early.
• Leave your car at home, parking is limited. There are designed drop-offs for your Uber or Lyft in front of the park. You can also take the MTS trolley.
• Give yourself enough time to go through security.
• Bring a blanket or light jacket. It gets chilly at night.
• Bayside Summer Nights concerts have a fireworks display scheduled at the end on all Friday and Saturday nights. Don't leave when the show is over on those days, so you don't miss the fireworks.
• There are booths with food and beverages for purchase.
• You can also pack a picnic. Alcohol and glass not allowed. I suggest that your bring healthy snacks, like fruits from Melissa's Produce.
