After years of waiting for it the residents of Oxnard (Ventura County) can finally shop at Whole Foods. The store will be opening the doors to the public on June 19, 2013. I was invited to the VIP Friends and Family Grand Opening event and I was given a tour of the facilities. My family and I not only enjoyed great food and music but we were really impressed with the features of the store. The new location is 30,000 square foot and is decorated to match the surfing community where it is located. The store is conveniently located at 650 Town Center Drive (in The Collection shopping center). The store will focus on fresh and organic fruits and vegetables and also have specialty items, high quality meats, poultry, fish and also everyday low prices. Organic and Local will be promoted as well. Some of the standout features are:
As it is usual with Whole Foods stores you can still expect to have the Non GMOs certified products To demonstrate Whole Foods Market’s commitment to the community, the new Oxnard store will donate five percent of the day’s net sales on June 26 to the House Farm Workers! The donation will help provide more safe and affordable housing for hundreds of farm workers and their families To stay connected and learn more about special events and promotions you can follow the Whole Foods Oxnard Store on Twitter and Facebook Disclosure: This is a sponsored post for Whole Foods Market Oxnard All opinions expressed are my own.

We like pizza. But it can get expensive and also when you buy pizza you really do not know what is on it. Homemade pizza let us enjoy something we like and also lets you choose the ingredients. That way less calories and more organic things on our pizza to make it "healthier" It is really easy to make, you just need some flat bread, and the toppings of your choice. My husband and son love cheese, mushrooms, tomato sauce and salami on our pizza. So that is today's recipe. For flavor we add oregano and basil. Step one: put some sauce on the flat bread Step two: put your toppings Step three: Get your husband to help (optional but recommended...) Step four: put in the oven for around 12 min and ENJOY!
Disclosure: I received complementary tickets to facilitate this post, however all opinions are 100% mine. Last weekend we were invited by Knott's Berry Farm to a VIP event to celebrate the opening of their 3 new rides at Knott's Boardwalk. The first thing that was so cool about this is that we got to enjoy the park before it opened to the public. Oh yeah, no lines to ride the roller coasters, that is the right way to do it. The other great thing is that they welcomed us with a Continental Breakfast. Well not a normal continental breakfast. They actually had chefs preparing omelettes with our favorite ingredients. After breakfast we enjoyed the 3 new rides at Knott’s Boardwalk. The first one was the Coast Rider where you go as high as 52 feet and swirl around the coaster. With turns and drops the coaster will have your heart beat up for a little bit. Then we went to ride the Surfers Gliders. That is something new and exciting. You can steer your glider up in the air and feel the wind on your hair. After that it was the Pacific Scrambler. Oh yes, you feel you are being scrambled and moved side to side. Then we had to go see the improved Log Ride. It was early to get wet but we wanted to skip the lines. It is a cute ride with a drop at the end that will get you pumped to get on the bigger rides. Then the park opened, and people started coming in. We still had time to enjoy other favorites such as Jaguar, the Sierra Sidewinder, Riptide and we even convinced our son to ride Boomerang. It was a day full of fun and adventure. But once again once you are at Knott’s you know your day is going to be AWESOME. Thank you Knott’s for having us and allow us to once again enjoy a wonderful day. Disclosure: I received complementary tickets to facilitate this post, however all opinions are 100%mine.
