Can you believe summer is almost over and kids are going back to school? Yeah, it is hard to go back to the routine and prepare healthy lunches again. But I am glad that there are products that make it so easy for busy parents like me.

Well and preparing lunches is not my only worry about back to school time. I am a very concerned parent when it comes to my child education. I keep reading on the news all the budget cuts to schools and education and I think something needs to be done. But, I guess changing politics is almost impossible, so I help my school by being a member of the PTA and participating on different fundraisers. That extra money that the school is able to raise help with those extra supplies the classrooms need. Our school is pretty new so we also need help with our sport teams and even benches at the playground area. And from all our research, we have learned those things are expensive, so we need to raise a lot of money.

As a parent and as a school PTA member, I keep looking for ways to get some extra cash for our school and I was really pleased to fin two very friendly to use programs and for sure will help us to get some extra money for the new school year.

Tyson Project A+ program

#ad how the Tyson Project A+ work

The Tyson Project A+ program is open to all accredited schools, preschool through grade 12, in the United States -- including public, private, parochial and homeschool organizations. It also includes military schools in the continental U.S. and overseas

Each Tyson Project A+ label has a value of 24¢ when redeemed by a registered school.

Each submission must contain at least 100 labels. No more than 50,000 labels may be submitted in a calendar year.

To avoid possible health issues from handling raw foods, only fully cooked Tyson® bags and boxed products carry the Tyson Project A+ label.

So how can you use the Tyson Project A+ program? First step is to visit the Tyson Project A+ web site to look up your school. If your school is already on the program, you only need to clip the labels from the Tyson products that participate on the program. (Project A+ labels are on more than 40 Tyson products. You can check the list of all participating products

If the school is not enrolled you might need to register. Once you are registered you only need to advertise the program in your school so everybody can start collecting the Tyson labels

If you shop at Safeway, 10% of the purchase of participating products will be donated to your school at the end of the program. (If you are a member of the eScrip program the donation will be automatic).

The Safeway Back to School program runs from August 14th to September 10th.

Whenever you are going to buy products at Safeway just check for the label on the selves that show you the participating products and use your Safeway saving card at checkout. Check the bottom of your receipt for details. Your total will be updated every time you shop. (eScrip members earn automatically)
If you visit the Safeway Back to School web site  you can register for the eScrip program. When you register you will provide your Safeway Club Card number. You will be raising money to the school when you shop at Safeway and during the Safeway Back to School program all you need to do is to look out for products participating.

Now, that you and I have learned about easy ways to help your school, let me show you an easy school lunch that can be prepared in just a few minutes using the very convenient Tyson Grilled & Ready products
@ad easy lunch with Tyson products
Creamy Alfredo Chicken Pasta

This is a very quick and easy recipe. Boil the pasta until done.
Put the pre-cooked chicken from the Tyson Grilled & Ready products on a pan and warm it out for around 3-5 min.
Either use prepared Alfredo sauce or make your own.
Mix all the ingredients
Serve in a spill proof container that keeps food warm
Pack fruit, water and another snack.
Lunch box is ready
My advice to save money at the store is always look for sales and read the labels. On my shopping trip I found a few products on sale and I made some money for the school. It was a win-win situation.
