After a couple of stressful weeks at work and home, I knew I needed a day at the Spa. A day for me to relax and stay away from problems. Also a day to celebrate my birthday. So when I got the invite to come to visit Glen Ivy, the answer was yes please!

We all need some time away from the day to day stressful situations. A day where we can take time of ourselves and treat our bodies with wellness. Glen Ivy Spa is that place for you. There are so many things to do at the Spa, that you want to be there from opening to close that way you can enjoy every single thing.

What to do at Glen Ivy

• “Taking the Waters” to Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa includes access to the 19 healing waters pools, Club Mud, Saunas & Steam Rooms, Bath House, Roman Baths, lockers, amenities, and Joy-Fitness classes.
• The Grotto: Descend to our secret cave and be painted neck-to-toe with a warm aloe vera, coconut oil, eucalyptus and lavender masque. Then warm your body in the gently heated cavern where this silky formula can soak further into your skin as your body heats up and your pores open. When you’re ready, step into the next room to rinse off under cascading water before moving into the final, cooler grotto to relax with tea, water and fruit. Unlike most body treatments, this can be enjoyed with friends in a group. You can also continue to massage this moisturizing masque into your warm skin as you journey through The Grotto. Take as much time as you like. We recommend 30-40 minutes. Reservations required $25
• Club Mud: Immerse yourself in spring water mud pool where you can slather your wet skin with fistfuls of California red clay. It’s blended into a silky soft paste with our own mineral water. Bake in the sun or in our warm ‘Wafa’ cave. Then simply wash off the dried mud when it becomes loose and flakey on your skin. Clay is a great skin exfoliator, known throughout history to draw out impurities from the body.
• They offer at least three daily exercise classes including Aqua Zumba and Aqua Fit classes in the lap pool or Tai Chi and yoga on the Activities Deck. 
• Individual spa treatments: facials, massages, nail services, and much more. You need a reservation for these services.

Where to eat at Glen Ivy

​Plenty of free drinking water is available all around the  spa. Here are the restaurants available for you

• GOCO Café: has Starbucks coffee and some small bites such as a quick salad, sandwiches, baked goods, and even desserts.
• Ivy Kitchen: serves healthy spa cuisine for breakfast and lunch. Fresh, local cuisine. They even grow their own vegetables nearby. Their most popular dish, The Nachos are big enough to share. However, I loved their Poke Salad. 
• Chill Zone: Here you can find juices, smoothies and frozen yogurts.
• The Lounge 1860: cosmopolitan bar under a shaded area with cocktails, wine, and beer.

Tips to enjoy your day at Glen Ivy

• Arrive early in the day so you can actually enjoy everything the spa has to offer.
• You can bring your own bathrobe  you can also rent one for $15).
• No outside food or drinks are allowed, but you can bring and empty reusable water bottle to refill on one of the several water stations available through the spa.
• Stay hydrated.
• Towels are provided and fairly available through the spa.
• Bring a  dark colored bathing suit as the clay in the mud area can stain it.
• Remember to bring sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat.
• Remove you jewelry (the minerals may cause your jewelry to tarnish).
• Place a credit card on file at the reception desk so you do not have to carry your wallet with you.
• Leave your clothes and valuables in one of the free lockers available.
  
• The spa has breakfast available, so you can eat when you arrive.
• They have a full bar, enjoy some cocktails!​
• When you are ready to go home use one of the several showers located in the Bath House. They provide shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryers, Q-tips and more.
  
• There is even a machine to dry your swim suit in a manner of seconds so you do not have to carry it wet back home.
