Last month I heard about the benefits of blue light glasses, and since my son spends great part of his day in front of a computer screen, we decided to give them a try.
My son's homeschool includes classes in the computer and classes in the local college. That means he spends long hours in front of a computer screen. If you add his gaming time, it means that his eyes are exposed to the blue light from the screen for long hours each day.
When we learned about the beneftis of blue light glasses, I knew he needed a pair. The only issue is that he uses prescription glasses so I wasn't sure that it was possible to get him some. The good news it that yeah, blue light glasses can be ordered with a prescription. We read a lot of reviews online and we decided to go with Gunnar eyewear because they had some of the best online reviews.
Ordering is simple. You pick up your frames, then you pick the color of the lenses and then enter your prescription and that is it. After just less than 2 weeks, we got our glasses home. Note, you need a prescription from an eye doctor to be able to get prescription glasses.
My son really loves them. He says they fit great, they are not heavy and he eyes do not feel tired as before. He actually says his gaming is even easier with them because he can see more details, he says this is due to the fact the glasses help to reduce the glare on the screen.
The only thing we would improve would be that it takes a while to clean the lenses, we imagine is due to the anti-glare coating on them. My son loves them so much that I might need to order some for myself. Maybe not the gaming ones though.
