5 Reasons to stay at the Margaritaville Resort in Palm Springs

My family is visiting from Colombia and I wanted to take them to a weekend getaway where they can see a beautiful place that is not too crowded but it is still fun. We are still in the middle of the health crisis, so we are being safe and responsible for our outings, so finding a place that is close to Los Angeles but still far to avoid the pollution and big crowd gatherings was important for us. ​

It was easy to make the decision of visiting the beautiful Palm Springs, the next step was to find a hotel where both the kids and adults were going to have a good time. That is when Margaritaville came into mind. The resort just opened November 2020. The newly renovated and rebranded destination features 398 rooms with panoramic views of the San Jacinto Mountains or resort grounds from private terraces and patios; six Margaritaville-inspired dining options with outdoor seating; a 10,000 square foot St. Somewhere Spa.

Once you set foot at the resort you have that feeling of tropical environment. You gat that feeling of being on a tropical island. The music, the decorations, the drinks... that and much more to make you feel like you find a fantastic destination in the middle of the desert. 

Here are 5 reasons to choose Margaritaville resort when staying in Palm Springs

1. ​The rooms

We stayed in one of the two kings bed room. So spacious and beautifully decorated with nod of  Jimmy Buffett's  Changes in Attitudes, Changes in Latitudes throw pillows and paintings that make you feel like if you are in a island!.
I loved the big beds with comfortable mattress and pillows. The bathroom has a bathtub area and a shower area. The room also had a great private private balcony with Adirondack chairs overlooking the garden. 

2. ​The pool and Jacuzzi area

Both kids and adults can enjoy the pool area, with some games and beautiful cabanas available to rent. There is a jacuzzi and firepits to enjoy at night while relaxing by the pool. 

3. ​The margaritas

Enjoy a delicious margarita by the pool at the bar that is conveniently located just by the pool. It's 5 o'clock somewhere offers delicious drinks and bites. You know the resort is called Margaritaville for a reason, so do not leave without having one of their delicious adult beverages. 

4. The ambiance and location

As soon as you walk into the hotel, you are transported into a very tropical place. Do not miss the  14-foot-tall electric blue flip flop sculpture. or the margarita glasses chandelier , both located in the lobby.  While you wait for your room, enjoy one of the seating areas that is a replica of the pool cabanas including a very cool mini swing. The details are all perfection. 

5. Free bike rentals

The hotel is located near restaurants and shops and only a few miles from the iconic Palm Springs downtown. You can ask at the lobby to rent for free one the these bikes to take a beautiful ride around the hotel. No need to move your car, you can enjoy these bikes for free while staying at the hotel.
