5 Lifestyle Changes with Health Health Benefits
There are a few lifestyle changes with immediate healthy benefits you can make beginning today. All of these are easier than you think and have a great positive impact on your life. From getting the right amount of sleep to exercising the way you want, here are some ideas.

Get More Protein and Less Carbs

Protein is a vital nutrient with many health benefits. It helps repair muscle after working out, provides a healthy overall look, and keeps your brain sharp. Eating protein-rich foods is the best way to get more. You can also use supplements like the ones at AthleticStore. On the flip side, it helps to reduce the amount of refined carbs you eat, as these are harmful sugars that don’t do anything for your hunger, meaning you eat more and more of them with no health benefits. 

Find Your Sleep Sweet Spot

It has always been said that you need at least eight hours of sleep per night. But this is plain wrong. Of course, you do need sleep, but it is different for everyone. Some people need eight, nine, or ten to feel good. And others require no more than four hours. The trick is to find what it is that you need. This can take a while as you may not need eight, and sleeping more than you need can make you feel awful. Signs of this include low energy, brain fog, and sore muscles.

Quit Bad Habits for Immediate Health Benefits

There are many bad habits that almost all of us do. If you don’t smoke, drink, or take drugs, then well done. However, many people do at least one of these. You should never take drugs, including cannabis. But even legally and socially acceptable smoking and drinking are extremely bad for your health. You can feel the health benefits of quitting smoking even after a day, and after a week, you will begin to breathe easier and have more energy. Drinking is harder to quit.

Exercise as Much as is Comfortable

You don’t need to be like Rocky. Running up the steps to get healthy when exercising and just walking for about 15 minutes per day is enough. Of course, any doctor will tell you to do more. But you should only exercise as much as is comfortable for the benefits. In fact, doing too much will wear you out, hurt your muscles, and can even be a hazard to your heart if you aren’t used to it. Yoga, pilates, and power walking are great starts if you have done little exercise before.

Socialize or Spend More Intimate Time

Being connected to others is a strong need for everyone, which is why it is placed high on the hierarchy of needs (Maslow). Aside from food, water, and shelter, social acceptance and connection are also required for survival. Keeping up with friends and family is a great way to look after mental health. And being more intimate with a partner (not just for sex) helps you feel comfort, acceptance, and love. All of these have immediate and long-term health benefits.


Eating more protein and less carbs has immediate health benefits such as more energy. Yet even quitting smoking and drinking does wonders, and you also need to stay socially active.
