How to be healthier in 2018
They always say put it out there and the universe will make it happen. Right now it is put it out there so you are accountable and have to follow through. So here it is. I need to get healthier and in better shape for 2018. Here it is my plan
I know it is not going to be easy. I will not be watching the scale. It is going to be ok losing weight but I am more interested on toning, losing inches and eating healthier.

My plan is
  • Exercise (walk, bike, dance, etc for at least 1 hour 5 days a week. I will try 7 but I know there are days I am going to be exhausted from work and need a break. Only setting up the goal of 5 days so it is attainable. 
  • Drink 64 oz of of water a day
  • Start Keto diet
  • Pack lunch for work each day
  • Avoid eating out as possible
  • Start and complete couch to 5k program. (I want to be able to run without getting out of breath)
  • Walk/Run at least three 5K this year (1. Castaway Cay 5K during my Disney Cruise, 2. Color Run, 3. Find another 5k)

Why drink 64 oz of water

I need to stay hydrated and I also need to help my kidneys get rid of toxins of my body. Drinking water is essential to stay hydrated. I will be using my drink water tracking log and a cool water bottle. (If you buy the bottle using my affiliated link, you will be supporting my journey to get healthy)

What is the Keto diet

According to Wikipedia, the ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates.
What does this mean for me? I need to plan my meals and make sure I have foods I like and are low in carbs available so I do not snack on unhealthy foods. The Keto diet also teach me how to use macros. I need to learn what fuel I am adding to my body.

Why packing lunch

If I do not take lunch to work, I am going to end up eating at the restaurants available near the clinic and they might not have options that are good for me. I am going to be using my awesome lunch box and lunch containers to take my own meals to work. ((If you buy the containers using my affiliated link, you will be supporting my journey to get healthy)

What is the Couch to 5K program

It is a program that helps you go from couch  to your very first 5K. You follow the beginner 5K training plan schedule that consist on walking/running different times each day until you are able to run your first 5k. I downloaded afree app on my phone to help me with it. 

So there it is. I made it public and I am hoping you help me stay accountable. I will update you on my progress and any changes to my goals. (Like I know I will not stay on Keto for long time, I just need a jump start on the weight loss)
