It is May and it is going to be an awesome month. It is a little challenging for me, because usually with all the celebrations for mother’s day I get a little nostalgic and home sick. And you probably already know I tend to eat when I am sad. So what is my plan? I am going to have lots of healthy snacks available. Baby carrots are going to be my best friend this month!
I have not seen the scale move in two weeks. It is a good thing and a bad thing. It is good that I have not gained weight. But it is bad that I have not lost weight. Yes, my clothes fit me loose, so I am assuming that I might have some water retention. I have to say I am really learning things. I was at a 5 de Mayo party and I had some tacos, but I only had the meat. No tortillas. It was not as hard as I thought. I guess I am learning to eat. It is the small changes that count. The air quality has not been the best. We had some wildfires, so walking outside has not been an option. I had been on the elliptical. I do not like it as much, but it helps me stay active. This week I am going to focus and drink more water and continue with my walks (or elliptical if the air is still bad) Mother’s day is coming up next week and I want to plan a menu. What type of healthy sweets do you think I should make?

Well, first I have to brag with all of you… I got to hug and spend time with Leah twice this week. Not only once but twice, that is just so awesome. (We went to The Talk and then she attended the Latino Lifestyle Blogger Conference)
This week was much better. I am still trying to catch up from cleaning, work and family stuff, but I am getting there and I am finding the time to work-out and I am also finding it easier to eat the way I was eating before. I have yet to stop drink diet soda. I have days I do not drink any and if I do drink I do not even finish the can or bottle. So I am going to count that as a victory. I did not see changes on the scale. But the clothes fit me loose. That is why we have to remind ourselves over and over again that that number does not define us and that little goals are better. What do I have to work on for this week? Keep being active; continue eating healthy and I want to find a good printable for family menu planning. (So if you have one please let me know). It is time to get the family meals organized as well. Well, it is time to break. Stop and start all over again
So many things happening lately and I have not been as committed as I was before. So I need to just take a moment to reflect and just start all over again. I guess that with the trips, having the in-laws at the house and all the crazy schedules at work I have been walking but not as much as I was walking before. That needs to stop. I found the time before and I will find it again. So let's just say the party is over and now I will dance to zumba and exercise. Let's keep moving and being active. I need to organize myself again So I had some drinks last week and I can feel them. I do not regret them, because I needed them. But now it is time to drink that water. Time to take meals to work again so there is not so many temptations and time to cook at home instead of take out. Not hard, just more work, but I know works pays off. So wish me luck This is going to be a very exciting and challenging week. I am going to be attending Hispanicize, a Latino conference in the beautiful Miami. That is the exciting part. Now for the challenging part: I am going to be in Miami, with food, alcohol, parties and a busy schedule.
I need to try to find a balance so I still can walk, exercise, rest, have fun, network. I guess 24h in a day are not enough for it. So what is the plan? Try to watch what I eat, going for walks at the beach and use the resort gym and drink plenty of water. I am also going to relax. I will remind myself the scale does not define me. I need to enjoy. I will control my portions and dance my way into the party (hey, that is exercise...) How do you keep your goals when traveling? Now, time to go learn, network and have fun! It is hard to believe that another months is over. It was just three months ago that I started to change my life and become healthier.
Now 35 pounds lighter counting, I can tell you I feel so good. Not only I look better, but my energy level is higher too. It is great to be outdoors with my son and be able to run, walk and keep up with him. What I consider my biggest challenge right now? Keeping my muscles confused so I can lose more weight. I have been doing elliptical and walking. Trying not to do the same everyday. I feel that I the next day I am not sore, it probably was not good. I can feel that I am used to walk now, so I have to try other things. This week it is going to be zumba on the xbox and a yoga DVD. How do you shake up your workouts? Have a great week and thanks for reading. Last week was busy at work. And also too many things going on at home. I was almost able to stick to my plan, but I was not totally at it. Time to stop, rethink, re-group and start all over again. The schedule at work is changing and there is going to be more late days, now Mondays schedule is going to be until 7 pm, which for sure will not allow me to be at the Mamavation show, so after a lot of consideration I have decided that I will not be applying this time. I wish I could be more active on twitter and be present at the show, to apply, but with this new schedule I know it would be impossible. Sad, but I will be hazing with the applicants at night. I will continue with my walks (or elliptical) and the #2weekchallenge. I got a water infuser pitcher that is helping me drink more water. I am in love with it, and really has helped the whole family. I had tried before to put fruit on the water but the flavor was not really there, but with this pitcher, now I can really taste the fruit. (I am not being paid to say this, I just love the product...) The family is AGAIN, getting sick. I just wish all the bugs went away. But we have to deal with the situation the best we can. I am just praying it is something mild. Last time it was bad. Need to stay active and with energy, so it someone has natural remedies, please share. Thank you and have an awesome week. “This post is sponsored by ReUsies™ & Mamavation – a community dedicated to obesity prevention & weight loss for women. I’m writing this to be entered into a giveaway” I did the virtual Mamavation 5k, did you? I walked most of it, as I am still training my body to run, but I finished the 3.1 miles and then continue until I finished my daily 5k. Now, I am ready to start tomorrow the #2weekchallenge. I feel I do need to tweet to @Mrbookieboo about my workouts. I have been walking, but due to other things going on, I did not continue with the workouts. I guess that lowering my exercise rate and the fact that my body is adapting cause me to stop losing weight. I have not gained back, but I did not lose. So now what? Well my plan is to re-evaluate my eating habits again, start the #2weekchallenge and keep walking my 5 miles. For my meal plan, I want to replace for 5 days my breakfast and lunch with my protein, banana and peanut butter shake. For dinner I want to have either chicken or fish with veggies. Then after that I want to get back to what I was eating during the ambassador program with Omron Fitness. Let's tweet to each other for the #2weekchallenge. I know now I do need that motivation and support I had during the last couple of weeks. So cheer me on, because I know I can do it. What are your plans for this week? In case you did not know, I was doing the #iheartomron ambassador program with #mamavation. After some weeks of intense exercise and a process on learning how to use the low glycemic index diet, I was able to lose 32 pounds. It was a great program a I was able to jump start my weight loss. But now I have to focus on the future and make sure I continue lossing and keeping my healthy lifestyle. I am still thinking about applying for the next Mamavation Mom Campaign. I applied for the challenge, because it did not required a big commitment to be on social media. I have to really look at my schedule and organize everything to make sure that I will be able to be at the Monday show and complete the hazing. I still have time to think about it. Regardless, I will continue with being part of the awesome Mamavation Community that provides me with support and advice. I lost another 2 pounds this week . Yay total lost of 34 pounds. I do know by body is going to start slowing down and adapting. But as long as I continue to be active and eating healthy I think I can get to my goal this year. For this week. I am hoping that everyone here is healthy so I can get my sleep. I am feeling tired and part of it is that I have been up coughing or with a sick boy. What are you doing to stay active this week? Last post of 2012, wow how fast this year has gone by...
To recap 2012 I re joined Mamavation. I had "retired" myself for a while because I left life get in the middle, but I am really happy I came back. For 2013 I have plenty of goals, both professional and personal but I will be posting those as we get into 2013 For now I am just happy I am still walking everyday, eating better and trying my best. I have applied for the #iheartomron challenge and I hope I get chosen because it will really motivate me. I wish I could apply to be a mamavation mom but with my work schedule I cannot commit to be on the shows, be very active on twitter, etc. However the Omron challenge is perfect because it does not requeire as much commitment of time so I can do that one. As for goal for 2013 I want to continue active with the mamavation community, continue blogging and getting healthier. Yes weight loss is important but I will not let the number define me. As long as I am healthy and my clothes fit good I will be happy. Now if during that process the weight drops that is awesome. I want to thank each one of you for your support and wish you the best in 2013 Well, what can I say, I had a very good week until Friday.
I cannot even get to write how I feel about the whole situation. I do not like to really post anything political or religious on the blog. I use my personal page for that. I only want to say that I cannot even imagine the pain of those affected and that if something from this I have learned that life is short and I have to enjoy my time with my son and family. Also I will continue to make myself a better person to be able to enjoy with son and I want to become healthier everyday. I have been doing my miles and eating good. I have applied for the Omrom opportunity because I believe that would help me a lot. I have thought about applying to be a Mamavation mom, but with my work schedule I cannot commit to be on the show or do the workouts and be on social media all the time, so maybe the Omrom opportunity will help me, so praying here I get chosen. Hugs for all of you and I hope you and your family are safe. |
