How to Fit Rest and Relaxation Into Your Life

There comes a time when relaxation has to be at the forefront of everything you are doing. You need to make sure that this is in place as it is very important for your health. 

It's never good to keep going, all the time without taking some kind of break.

Sooner or later it's all going to catch up with you and it will have some severe consequences if you're not careful. The best thing you can do to prevent any of this from happening is to make sure that you have some relaxation strategies in place so that you can protect your health and rest your body at the same time. 

With that being said, here's a look at how you can make sure that you are scheduling time for rest.

Breaks are Important

You must take a break whenever possible, by scheduling slots throughout the day, where you are being as productive as possible. Take some time to play backgammon or poker and relax. 

This is all necessary if you want to make sure that you are taking care of your health in the right way. Remember your body needs to recuperate and you must take some time throughout the day to do so. 

It's always a great day for you to give yourself the royal treatment.

Set Up a Timer

Sometimes you have to schedule breaks for yourself by setting up a timer. Don't be afraid of pulling out your phone and setting up an all-important reminder not for a task or chore you have to do, but for taking some breaks and some time for yourself. 

You might also want to try using a Pomodoro timer. 

It allows you to work for a portion of time and then take a break for another period. Many people find this very helpful in ensuring that they get an equal balance of work and rest.

The truth is that often you have to use creative ways to make sure that you get the best results. You don't want to wait until your body throws you into a tailspin or throws you on the ground, literally, before you take heed and get some rest.

Create Some Boundaries

Sometimes, it’s not so much that you don’t want to take a break; it’s more of the fact that you literally can’t because people are blocking your way. But it’s going to be up to you to set some boundaries so no one crosses them. You need to give yourself a break, and you need to let people know they just can’t pile things on you at all hours of the day. When you’re home, create the boundary that you’re not going to respond to any more work-related emails or calls. When you’re at home doing your favorite hobby like playing checkers, then it’s up to you to create the boundary that this is You Time and no one is allowed to disturb you. In order to fit in time, you need to sometimes just tell people to back off. Sure, it can be harsh, but you deserve a break. ​

Self-Confidence is Everything

Get Help

Often the best thing you can do is to just admit that you can't go it alone. If you feel as if you are climbing up a hill and that the winds are attempting to push you right back down.

It often means that it's time for you to ask for help. Delegate responsibilities and duties if you can. 

Try not to feel guilty about it, there's no use tearing out your hair and feeling so down that you begin kicking yourself just because you can't manage alone. It's healthy to ask for help especially when you need it the most.

You must be getting as much work as play at all times. 

If you don't balance that scale, then it's going to tip in favor of exhaustion and this will affect your health badly.
