It was an easy decision: going big or going home, and since I really want to learn more about social media, the choice was GOING BIG! Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Collective and SoCal Lady Bloggers in collaboration with some wonderful sponsors put together an awesome conference. A conference where you still have fun but there is also a lot of learning and opportunities to network. The conference starts with the VIP reception party. It is not the crazy party where the music is so loud you cannot even talk. The reception is a great place to network and make connections. This time we were able to taste some beer and try some natural desserts. Besides connecting with friends and meeting new bloggers, we got a very cute swag bag. The first day started with some yummy coffee, because you know that bloggers need coffee to learn. The organizers always look for very innovative and natural great products. All is very trendy! Morning the first day had amazing presenters and panels. One good thing about this conference is that you do not need to choose what session to attend. With one session at the time we all get to learn and listen to all the speakers. We had the following sessions:
We also had a great lunch provided by Stonefire Grill and you can see by the pictures that all was delicious There was also a sweet break in the afternoon provided by A Sweet Design We also had the opportunity to interact with brands and network. At the end of the day we had some beer and Make-up and Henna Tattoos First day was fun, but I knew I needed some rest to be ready for more learning and networking day 2. I drove home everyday around 1 hour and a half and it was just worth it. The panels on day 2 were really great
Day two food was also great. Lunch was provided by Fresh Brothers Snacks were the delicious Pretzel Crisps We also had some ice-cream (But I was busy and could not get any pictures) and more networking. Oh and off course a great swag bag. Stay tune for pictures because a lucky reader will be able to win one bag exactly like mine. I want to Thank the organizers for allowing me to volunteer and be part of this amazing conference. Thank you to the awesome @Latinaprpro, @EBBlogAshley, @temysmom and @Melissa_Dell. I am looking forward to next year #LBNC15 James Gibson is 12 years old and only needs $2 million to convince NASA to let him go to the moon. It's not a regular thing for a kid to get $2 million. But James is no ordinary kid. Follow his adventure...from getting his weekly swirly in the school toilet from the neighborhood bully...all the way into outer space...in this exciting new novel, The Kid Who Went To The Moon. An 11 year old writes a book and it is actually really good. When I got this book to review I was thinking it is the perfect book for my son to read and give me feedback. So I asked my son to read it and he was very impressed and motivated with the fact that an 11 year old was able to write a book. My son is 9 and now he wants to start writing.
This is what my son had to say about the book
I also read the book. I think that it is well written and that the author has potential. I think it is a great form of motivation for kids to write and follow their dreams. I will be looking for more books like this to add to my son library. What type of books do you like to read? Has your child ever complained about growing pain?
I cannot recall having them as a child, however my mom said I had them. My son seems to have them often. He either wakes ups on the middle of the night with pain or complains about it early in the morning. I guess growing is painful. If is a biological growth, like in the case of my son, it can be explained due to the cells in the muscles and bones growing. That is where the pain comes from. There is other type of grow pain. The pain that comes with change in your life. The type of growing pain that it is not addressed as often, but is real, and common but unspoken. Sometimes change is hard on us and make us be unsure if we want to continue with our projects. Sometimes we have to continue growing even when it means that we have to change our life. The good thing about growing pain, is that, when we reach our growth, the pain stops. In the case of my son, I might still have a few years left. Nothing a warm oil massage and some kisses do not take away. In my own case, well, I do not know for how long, but I know as I reach my goals the pain will stop because that would mean my project is doing well. I know as soon as one project ends, I will start another one, which means a new type of pain will start but that also means that I can grow more and learn new things. Pain is not bad, pain helps us know we are alive. It is good to learn to deal with the pain of getting into new things. You learn, you grow, you become a better person. It is easy if you have a good support system. Do not grow alone, find someone that can help you grow. Do not be afraid of the pain, do not be afraid of grow, so not be afraid of change. Change is hard, but we have to adapt. It can be painful but we have to be strong. Change will help you grow. How do you deal with change? Releases on DVD April 8th, 2014 Do YOU believe in mermaids? You will – when you set sail on a magical full-length adventure under the sea with Sofia the First! After Sofia helps a young mermaid named Oona, Sofia’s amulet grants her the power to transform into a mermaid and visit her new friend’s secret underwater kingdom. But when Cedric (disguised as a sea monster) plots to steal Oona’s enchanted Mermaid Comb, danger surfaces for both worlds. With a little help from special guest, Princess Ariel, Sofia embarks on an adventure to rescue Oona. Overflowing with oceans of song-filled fun – plus three more exciting episodes – Sofia the First: The Floating Palace proves that when families and friends work together, they can weather any storm and save the day! Nicolas is growing up, and we do not have a lot of time left for him to enjoy this type of DVDs, however since my brother and his wife just had a baby girl and her name is Sofia, my son was really interested on getting this DVD and seeing the story line. It is a Disney DVD, so off course the quality is great. The story and the music is very entertaining and it keeps kids interested on seeing what else is going to happen. |
